Hello world!

Experience a Master Plant Dieta, an ancestral path of healing preserved by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon for generations. Together, in a small Shipibo family center near Pucallpa, we will be guided by Maestro Pervis Urquia, a Shipibo Curandero with 20+ years of service, healing others through the power of the plants. During these 14 days, we will live in humility, simplicity, and care, with only seven participants plus me, so each person has the space and attention to truly listen to their plant.
Alessandro and Maestro Pervis
There are many ways to heal. Some need a comfortable, activity-rich retreat, others a silent meditation retreat; all of them can be absolutely perfect. It all depends on what your soul needs right now.
If you feel called to, I’m inviting you to experience something different. Something deeply connected to ancient wisdom: a Master Plant Dieta in a family-run, traditional Shipibo center, with a Shipibo Maestro with over 20 years of experience in the world of sacred medicinal plants.
I hold immense gratitude toward the Maestro and the center, as I’ve received healing I never thought possible, finding wholeness and letting go of trauma that had defined me for my whole life. I am going back to the center to continue my path with the plants, and I’m here to invite you to come diet with me in the Shipibo way: surrounded and held by Nature with its infinite wisdom.
I’ll help you prepare and integrate the experience, while the Mokapari Nete, the Maestro’s center, will handle every aspect of the retreat.

A Master Plant Dieta is a sacred period where you choose to become a student of your master plant, receiving healing, insights, and wisdom. Each day, you take a small preparation of your plant (chosen for you by the Maestro), live simply, and dedicate time to silence and introspection, so your plant can take root in you.
Yes, if you choose to. Ayahuasca is received on ceremony nights to deepen our connection with the master plant. The maestro uses Ayahuasca to open perception, clean and align, and to sing ícaros that carry the teaching of your specific plant. You can also choose to join the ceremony without drinking Ayahuasca; your plant will still work with you, and the Maestro will still work with what you need during the ceremony. Ceremony frequency is set by the maestro for the group (in two weeks it is five). The focus remains the relationship with your plant, not chasing peak experiences.
During a Master Plant Dieta, you also receive Ayahuasca, but that is for you to connect more with your Master Plant.
Relationship > Experience. Not “one big ceremony,” but letting a plant form a relationship with you over days and nights.
A Lifetime Ally. Completing a Master Plant Dieta bonds you with your plant as a lifelong ally. Drinking Ayahuasca alone doesn’t create the same bond. One is not “better”—it’s about what you feel called to.
From Maestro Pervis (Spanish → English):
“Lo más importante es dietar y recibir el poder de las plantas; después, la ayahuasca trabaja en nuestro espíritu y en nuestro cuerpo.”
The most important thing is to diet and receive the power of the plants; afterward, ayahuasca works in our spirit and in our body.
To learn more about this vast topic, you can watch this interview with Maestro Pervis:
In the Shipibo tradition, a Dieta can help you with almost anything: from healing physical/emotional pain, to energy/spiritual healing, finding love, strength, and much more.
Every Dieta is unique; it depends on you and the plants you’re dieting with, and most of all on what you truly ask of your Master Plant.
What you receive also reflects what you give: the more dedication and the more closely you follow the guidance, the deeper the change.
Teachings from your master plant are often subtle at first and profound over time.
Everything mentioned on this page isn’t medical treatment. It’s traditional spiritual work, guided by the Maestro and your relationship with your master plant.
If you’ve wondered what it feels like to live a Master Plant Dieta, I share my story in this video. I came to the Amazon seeking healing from trauma and found something deeper than I expected.
Mokapari Nete, a small Shipibo center outside Pucallpa, held by Maestro Pervis Urquia and his extended family.
Just us. Up to 8 guests (each with a private room). We’ll be the only group at the center.
Family-run. Wooden rooms, family kitchen, plant baths and steams, forest paths, surrounded by nature at every moment.
Skilled team. Maestro Pervis leads with highly trusted 1–2 Shipibo Curanderos (healers) and a senior facilitator supporting daily flow and translation.
Deeply caring. The plants, the ícaros, and the family are the luxury here.
Shipibo healer with 20+ years of service. Taught by his uncles (healers Esteban and Cecilio), later invited by Maestra Inés López to work for a decade at Noya Rao Xobo. With the support of friends and patients, he founded Mokapari Nete near Yarinacocha, where he receives small groups who engage in a Master Plant Dieta with humility, working with master plants and the ícaros that carry them.
An extended family takes care of every aspect of your journey with great care and love. Maestro Pervis often invites 1–2 trusted Curanderos to provide additional healing.
A veteran in the world of plants, living at the center for over three years. Claire bridges the Western mindset with the Shipibo tradition with gentleness and care.
After a life-transformative Master Plant Dieta, I’ve been guided to help bring this healing to more people. I’ll help you prepare optimally, diet alongside you, and hold four biweekly integration circles upon our return.
The Master Plant Dieta has been kept by indigenous shamans for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. With deep respect for the tradition, we now have the opportunity to engage in this life-transforming process.
The Dieta begins one month before arrival. I’ll gently guide your mind/body/spirit preparation so you’re ready to receive your plant’s wisdom following the Shipibo tradition.
The center takes care of everything on-site: transport to/from the airport, all meals, a private room, and all the medicinal plants, so you can focus on your master plant.
Five Ayahuasca ceremonies with personalized ícaros to help you connect with your plant and cleanse your physical & energy body.
Traditional steam baths with a blend of powerful medicinal plants to clear body & spirit and deepen openness during ceremonies.
Aromatic plant baths for cleansing, protection, and opening.
The post-Dieta period is delicate. We’ll meet every two weeks for four integration circles, a space to share and listen together as we return to daily life.
Also included onsite: daily support from the extended family, 1–2 additional Shipibo Curanderos besides Maestro Pervis, and a senior facilitator for translation and day-to-day flow. Group size: Up to 8 participants (including Alessandro).
Two transparent contributions ensure every part of your experience is honored with transparency and integrity. The Shipibo center receives its full fee directly. Beyond Sapiens receives a symbolic contribution for preparation and for hosting four peer integration circles after we return.

This work exists because Shipibo-Konibo families have protected it for generations. We come as guests, not consumers. Our way is reverence, fair exchange, and leaving things better than we found them.
Living Sanctuary. Maestro Pervis is building a plant sanctuary at Mokapari Nete to protect, replant, and steward the medicinal plants to ensure they keep being available for future generations.
Kené Art: During your stay, you will have the opportunity to look at the incredible handmade canvas, clothes, beadwork, pipes, and jewelry. If you wish, you can buy them directly and fairly to support the community. Maestro Pervis is deeply involved in supporting communities that live deep in the jungle.
